This Saturday is the 5th annual !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! in Georgetown, TX, just a few miles north of Austin. Weather should be glorious. Most of the usual suspects for a small Texas air show will be there: the R4D (C-47) Ready 4 Duty , the P-51 Mustang Pecos Bill , the Douglas PBJ (B-25) Devil Dog . But there will also be a Ford Trimotor in attendance, and I have never seen one of those in person. Any Austin Planelops going to attend? I'll be the one with the big-ass camera pointed at the sky...

I love me some Ford Trimotor. That's the original island hopper for Lake Erie. Mail man, school bus, taxi.

I can't wait to see it. I've only seen one at the A&S Museum.

Assuming you're talking about the Smithsonian. That was my favorite place as a kid. Air and Space: never got sick of it.

Yes, the Smithsonian. I was there the first summer it opened, and it's a must-see whenever we get to DC. Have you been the Udvar-Hazy Center out by Dulles? It's incredible. We were there just last June , and I took as many pictures as I could in the short time we had there.

Wings Over Houston would be worth a 10-hour drive. Not this show. But I have missed two of the big Texas shows this year, so I'm definitely going to this one.

No, moved away long before that was built. When I lived there again I had a particular dislike of navigating the suburbs because I was a gigantic curmudgeon so I never drove to it. Moved away again: Silver Line built. That's how life rolls.

Wow, this is an old post! I’m not sure what events are scheduled this year. I don’t think the Trimotor will be here this year. Here’s a link. I think admission is no charge.
